Fixer Upper

Hello,

I'm a single mother of two boys, 13 and 10. Currently I am a live-in caregiver for an elderly lady with Alzheimer's. After caring for her around the clock for 3years, her daughter has come back into her life and will be taking over her care. Now I am diligently searching for a new position. I took what savings I had, and put down on an "as is" house. It definitely needed some TLC, but I saw the potential.

Trusted the wrong people...

Last month, based off of a referral, I had someone to give me an estimate of the work that needs to be done. They agreed to work with me on costs. Needless to say, these individuals scammed me. Not only did they not do the work we agreed upon, but they stole my hot water heater, a/c unit, and copper pipes once I told them I no longer wanted them to do any work. Now I'm left with having to replace major things; along with having to make other repairs that weren't done properly or finished.

As I will be leaving here in 3 weeks, I am more determined than ever to get the house finished. I will be living with relatives until I am finished with repairs. Which will hopefully be completed by Spring.
