Many of you know me from the South East Convention circuits, Urban Exploration circles and the Atlanta Goth Scene. For years, I have used my personal equipment and skills to photograph conventions, cosplayers, haunted houses, friends' weddings, special events and so many other photo projects. I have asked for little or no money to compensate because I truly enjoy being able to promote and contribute to the people and events that I care about.
This past weekend, I was in the middle of a photo shoot when my primary (also my favorite) lens spontaneously (and without warning) detached from my camera, sailed through the air and bounced across the sidewalk. I ran to it immediately, to find that the locking ring was bent, the focus ring just spins and the zoom doesn't move at all. This lens is DEAD. And to add insult to the injury, I have only had the lens back in my hands for a very short time (a few weeks) from the repair shop.
As a struggling photographer who rarely makes profit from my work, I simply do not have the available budget needed to fix or replace this lens (again). So, I am asking for help from my friends, colleagues and anyone else who can sympathize with my predicament, to help me get back to doing what I love.
And if you make a donation, feel free to guilt me into taking even more photos of you!
Below are some of my favorite photos from over the years.
