Fix Mary’s Roof

A short while ago I came across an ad posted by an older lady needing help around the house. I called and went to meet her the very next day. She showed me around the house while explaining what she needed help with. We made our way upstairs and she started to show me all these spots the roof was leaking, some of it looks pretty bad. She has actually gone up on her roof and pours tar all over trying to stop the leaks, as well as patching up holes in the celing. She explained to me that she had bought the house very cheap 10 years ago not realizing all the work it needed.  

This is a woman who has spent most of her life helping others. She was a high school teacher and has helped a number of people with housing and getting off the streets. The sacrafices she has made to help others is amazing. This woman deserves to have a roof over her head. I continue to help her almost everyday she has so much stuff in her house, at first in all honestly I thought she was a borderline hoarder, but it turns out the things she has a lot of she give to people who are in need of these items such as blankets, shoes, plates and other cooking ware. 
 
I can see the stress and how overwhelmed she gets and although her problems are beyond the roof i know that it's the biggest one and if I could find a way to help her fix that it would be a huge weight off her shoulders. Everything I'm helping her with just takes time and effort, the roof is a BIG job and is going to take a lot of money she doesn't have.

If anyone has any tips on what else I could do or saY or anything that could help, I know it probably won't happen but I would like to fix her roof before winter get's here!! If anyone has any suggestions don't hesitate to email me at: [email protected]
