WHY has the FiveUP app has been created?

The idea of the app came to me on March 15, 2017, really just a sentence, which I said to my children in my desperation.

What this sentence was?

On a Sunday, my children were on their phones all day, fiddling with the tablet. More precisely, they were on social media, and playing various games. „of course, no studying.” At the end of the day, when I was really bothered by all this,

I turned to my children and said: „If there would be an app which blocked all running apps, and would force you to study, I would be the first mom to download it and pay for it.”

This was the moment when I thought of the problem that they use this technology so much, but why couldn’t it be used for more useful purposes (e.g. studying, practising)

I spent the entire evening searching for apps with which my children could learn. I was looking for such, that are broken down to classes, subjects and topics, so that they could practice simply, quickly and effectively.

„But I haven’t found anything like that”

The other day, I talked to multiple friends of mine, who were also dealing with similar problems.

„The children spend more time using the gadgets than learning.”

While the children were in lower grades, my main problem was that because of the daycare, they brought home nothing to study or practice all week, and I only realized where they were in the curriculum, and if they were lagging behind.

We were studying together for hours for some bigger tests, but it didn’t go as we wished. I thought that maybe the problem was that I asked it differently than the teacher would in the test.

This problem resulted in the uniqueness of the app, so that teachers themselves would upload the questions into it. For this step, we need the cooperation of a lot of teachers, because all of them would ask different things in different ways in every topic.

In higher grades, the books were at home, but I couldn’t help my children anymore. They were seeing tutors, which is very expensive, and it only covered 2 subjects, not only due to a lack of funds, but also, time.

This is why I would like to put all subjects into the app.

So why? „For my children, for my child!”

WHAT has been produced from our own effort?

The FiveUP app has been produced for Android with a playful design for the following subjects:

- 5th grade: History, Hungarian Grammar, Natural Science
- 7th grade: Hungarian Literature, Hungarian Grammar, History, Biology, Geography
- 8th grade: Hungarian Literature, Hungarian Grammar, History, Biology, Geography

More than 18.000 uploaded unique questions is accessible to children.

Uploading in process:
- 6th grade: History, Natural Science

AND WHAT IS IT, for which we need your help?

- 5th-, 6th-, and 8th grade: Math, Physics and Chemistry
- 5th and 6th grade: all missing subjects
- All subjects of all grades would get a unique description, so the app not only helps practicing, but also teaching
