REQUEST FOR FUNDING FOR HOSTING THE FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE WEBSITE

FISAMU is an association IN Makerere University which unites not only the fisheries students and the fisheries lecturers but also brings together the Alumni, the fish farmers , fisheries institutions and the stake holders in EAST AFRICA. Our patron is Dr. Gladys Bwanika who is a lecturer fisheries science.

As the highest education and research institution in fisheries and aquaculture in the country FISAMU acts as a bridge between the Students, lecturers, Fisheries research centers, Alumni, Fish farmers, and the employers in Uganda and East AFRICA.

We as the fisheries fraternity decided to come up with a website project which will be a link between the different partners as stated above and also to increase on the opportunities for the fisheries students our current website is FISAMU WEBSITE LINK .

we request that you source for us funding so that we can host our website at least for 10 year plan atleast 1000 Usd.

These are some of the projected benefits the fisheries students and fisheries fraternity will benefit from this website:

-The website will act as a link between the students, lecturers, research centers, alumni and the employers all around the world.

· As students we will be able use the website for posting their research articles and publications .

· The website will also be used as a platform where employers if fisheries fraternity all around the world can post their jobs for the fisheries students.

· The website will also be used as a platform for communicating news and developments in the fisheries sector in EAST AFRICA and around the world.

· Lecturers and scientists will use our website to post short notices to the fisheries students in the university.

· Students will be able to upload and share notes on the website

· The association can generate income from the website e.g. through adverts of students contesting, fisheries commodities, big companies like MTN etc.

We have created our initial part of the website on a free hosted platform but we are so limited in space and capabilities and even our website information is not safe. Therefore we request for funds to host our website in order to increase on the benefits we can achieve.
