Fish farm start up

This is a compassionate appeal to kind hearted individuals and charitable organisations willing to assist me financially in setting up a fish farm. I lost my job as a translator for Family Radio international, USA. That job was the only means of livelihood for me and my family. As the Radio station could no longer pay for the services of the translators due to lack funds, my job came to an abrupt end. For the past 5 months that I have been without a job, life has been really tough for me. I have almost used up the little money that I had saved up through the years.  I would not want to go into the details of the dire financial situation I and my family find ourselves in because it is a complete nightmare.

I am therefore humbly soliciting the financial assistance of kind hearted individuals willing to help me set up a fish farm that will provide a job for me and many unemployed people in my commuinty. I wish to start up a farm that produces a fresh water fish known as cat fish. It is a staple consumed by almost everybody in my country. In my country salt water fish are quite expensive due to the high import duty imposed on the importation of the salt water fish as well as the depletion in the number of the fish in the oceans. Therefore the local rearing of fresh water fish is a viable alternative to ensuring adequate supply of fish to satisfy the high demand for fish.

I had studied cat fish farming in the past but was unable to start up the venture due to lack of funds. To start a viable cat fish farm in my commuinty one needs to acquire a land on lease, sink a borehole for the supply of water, construct small ponds, purchase the first stock of cat fish fingerlings, buy the first batch of feeds for the fingerlings amongst other sundry expenses. Once set up, the farm is relatively easy to manage. It takes about 3 and a half months for the cat fish to grow to table size.

I have estimated the start up capital to be in the region of about 5,300 Dollars. I will be able to raise approximately 800 Dollars by selling some of my most valuable property. I have already set aside for sale my computer which I had used for my translation job as well as my hand crank elecric generator which I had used as a source of power in my commuinty where electric power outage is very common. I also have other less valuable items I can sell. I am optimistic that I can raise at least 700 Dollars from the sale.

I will be eternally grateful to any kind spirited individual or organisation that will assist me with the sum of around 4000 Dollars. This will definitely make a lasting difference in my lives and in the lives of many unemployed people in my community. I am ever ready to answer to any questions you may have concerning this project.
