In 2016, Vilnius International Rotaract Club initiated the project “The First Schoolbag”. We believe that every child should have the best possible start in their academic journey.

The aim of the project is to provide the first graders from families at social risk with a school bag, containing all the necessary inventory. The school inventory includes: school bag, school stationery, uniform, sportswear.

The future first graders are selected while working closely together with the social workers of the cities’ municipalities from different regions of Lithuania. Poverty, huge unemployment rate, social issues in families, affecting children - this are the main criterias for selecting children.

During the two years of the project, thanks to the funds collected, we provided in total 90 first graders and 1 kindergardener with all the necessary equipment.
