First Photo Saphari Sarajevo 2019

SUMMARY

Photo-video Club Valter (FVK Valter) aims to organise a first photography saphari in Sarajevo, together with the Association for Artistic Photography of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AUF BiH), inspired by similar events organised in cities across the Western Balkan region. The saphari would consist of photographing at certain locations as well as of three photo exhibitions. In order to successfully organise the activity, FVK Valter would secure accomodation, food, entrance fees, and transport to planned locations for a minimum of 30 participants, and would organise the following photo exhibitions: FVK Valter Club photo exhibition, State exhibition (FotoBiH), and the exhibition of photographs taken during the saphari.

INTRODUCTION

FVK Valter is a non-governmental and non-profit association of lovers of photography and film which, through its programme and activities, contributes to the development and promotion of photography and film, as well as in education in these forms of art and culture. Moreover, FVK Valter is a member of AUF BiH (www.fotobih.ba) which is itself a member of the International Association for Artistic Photography (www.fiap.net).

During its 10 years of existence, FVK Valter has achieved significant results in artistic and documentary photography. It organised thematic and humanitarian photo-exhibitions, and provided educational platforms for both advanced as well as beginning photographers.

GOALS OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT

Promotion of cultural and historical heritage of Sarajevo with a special focus on the old part of the city. Development, promotion, and education of photography as an artistic and cultural form.

TARGETED GROUPS

• Primarily: members of photography clubs in the regsion, professional and amateur photographers, all interested individuals and fans of photography;
• Secondary: Municipality Stari Grad (Old Town), Municipality Ilidža and City of Sarajevo

OVERALL PROJECT ACTIVITIES

• Juni 2019: Division of tasks and responsibilities within FVK Valter and announcement of the photo saphari to AUFBiH;
• July 2019: Notification/publication of the photo saphari to relevant clubs and media;
• July/August/September 2019: arrangement of logistics i.e. accomodation, lunch, visits to cultural objects, exhibition space, registration of the photo saphari to AUF BiH, renting of a photography studio and a model;
• September 2019: Preparation of the FVK Valter photo-exhibition and the AUF BiH exhibition, printing of photographs, preparation and printing of posters, catalogues, and preparation of exhbition space;
• September/October 2019: Announcement and call to media regarding photo-saphari;
• October 2019: photo saphari
• October 2019: collections, judging, and printing of photographs for the photo-exhibition of photographs taken during the photo-saphari; preparation and printing of the catalogue; preparation of the exhibition space;
• November 2019: the exhibition of photographs made during the photo-saphari, closing ceremony and awarding of certificates.

PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

• Printing of t-shirts with the logos of sponsor;
• Placing logo of sponsors on the posters for the relevant exhibitions in the catalogues and social media;
• Publication and the promotion of the sponsor on the offical web page and Facebook page of FVK Valter;
