When my Dad was originally diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, he had to under go chemotherapy then radiotherapy as the Chemo wasn't doing as well as the doctors thought it was going to. When my dad had to have his 10 days of Radiotherapy he had to travel from Doncaster to Sheffields Weston Park cancer hospital, my mum was panicking about parking and travelling there everyday and then she found out about Firefly. These are a charity that help cancer patients and their family's to get to Sheffield to have their treatment. Without Firefly my mum and dad would of been lost. The second week of my dads Radiotherapy he got admitted to hospital, despite not needing their services anymore the Firefly drivers often asked how my Dad was and shown their support. At the moment Firefly only have 3 mini busses to transport patients, and by raising more money hopefully they will be able to get more mini busses and help more Cancer oatients and their families.
