Fire rescued animals need our help 📍Greece

On August 3rd, 2021 unprecedented heatwaves caused wildfires throughout Greece. This resulted in the loss of wildlife, forests and peoples homes. Parts of Attica region where the fires started had horses running free in order to escape the fire since the horse ranch was burnt down. There have been countless animals that have suffered burns, have been abandoned and are facing serious health issues. The Greek community is trying to find shelters to relocate them- though many shelters also burnt down, their owners that have also lost their homes and people to adopt. We have struggled to raise enough funds to meet all the needs for food, medications, bandages and other essential goods. The fires are still raging and we know that in the coming weeks, we will continue to find animals that have suffered and need immediate attention. With the funds we hope to raise, we will distribute towards smaller groups that are in the front lines gathering animals (many hosting in their own homes since so many shelters are at capacity). We will also distribute an amount to a social kitchen that has been providing free meals throughout the country and is now doing so for those who have lost everything in the fire. Even a donation as little as 1€ goes so far. We will be showing where the money will go once we gather donations. Please consider helping us as we have now seen for certain, that society will be those who will help our country as the government is lacking.

Il 3 agosto 2021 ondate di calore senza precedenti hanno causato incendi in tutta la Grecia. Ciò ha comportato la perdita di fauna selvatica, di chilometri di foreste e abitazioni. La disperazione è stata talmente tanta che i club di equitazione della zona hanno dovuto lasciare circa 300 cavalli liberi per strada essendo l’unica loro possibilità di salvarsi. Ci sono stati innumerevoli animali che hanno subito ustioni, che sono stati abbandonati e stanno attualmente affrontando gravi problemi di salute. La comunità greca sta cercando di trovare rifugi per trasferirli, anche se molti rifugi sono già stati bruciati e la disponibilità e poca. A parte della perdita dei rifugi, i proprietari degli animali della zona hanno perso anche le loro case. Abbiamo lottato per raccogliere fondi per soddisfare le esigenze di cibo, farmaci, bende e altri beni essenziali. Gli incendi infuriano ancora e sappiamo per certo che nelle prossime settimane continueremo a trovare animali che hanno sofferto e che necessitano di cure immediate. Con i fondi che speriamo di raccogliere, vorremo distribuirli a gruppi più piccoli che sono in prima linea a raccogliere, ospitare ed aiutare animali (molti ospitano nelle proprie case poiché tanti rifugi sono al completo). Distribuiremo anche una somma a una mensa che finora ha fornito pasti gratuiti in tutto il paese e lo sta facendo anche per coloro che hanno perso tutto a causa delle fiamme. Anche una donazione di appena 1€ può andare così lontano. Una volta raccolte le donazioni, mostreremo con gli scontrini dove spenderemmo i soldi. Per favore considera di aiutarci siccome abbiamo notato che la società, cioè noi le persone sarà chi che aiuterà il nostro paese e non il nostro governo che si è rivelato inadeguato.
