Fire Recovery Fund

Our farm has just been hit by one of the biggest fires Portugal has ever experienced. The fire storm came blazing through and burnt most of our farm which we have been working hard on to turn from an abandoned overgrown land into a diverse biotope and bee sanctuary that is nurturing and healing. A place for people to gather for their own healing and that of the Earth, the waters, th air and all our future generations.

We were so so lucky that our little farm house remained intact and that our animals and we ourselves were unharmed. We don't want to give up on our vision to create a beacon of light here, we feel strongly that we must continue! We are ready to keep going, to soar from the ashes and just make the best out of this, although the destruction of the fire has been a major set back for us and our efforts to get this project finally off the ground. We have lost a lot of building material, our means of earning an income, our accommodations for visitors which allowed us to receive the much needed helping hands here have been completely destroyed, our greenhouse and bath house with all our saved seeds, and some clothing and equipment.

This fund will help us to continue and rise up again. Apart from the clean up and replacing what we have lost, we need to
- Replant a diversity of trees
- Replant ground cover of deep rooted and soil nourishing plants and plants that provide food for bees
- Rebuild our greenhouse
- Rebuild our seed stock
- Rebuild accommodation so we can receive helping hands and visitors again

With all this we are grateful beyond words for the luck we had and this gift of life! We need to continue with this vision and rise and soar with our spirits strong and determined. We are so grateful for any help we can receive! Thank you!
