Fire Fighting Equipment for Volunteer Heros

Drakenstein Farm Watch, a group of dedicated Volunteers who have so far privately funded a fleet of Fire Fighting units, ask the world to assist in our next big venture.

Last season our team of volunteers did 96 fires with our equipment, (normaly 25-35 fires ) needless to say it drained our finances to the max. but we must not sit back and relax.

We are facing the worst drought since 100 years for the second year in a row and it still looks bad, it is not yet over. The devastations in the Western Cape concerning Fires is still the beginning of a very big distaster. Due to the drought, and due to lack of organizational skills we fear that next fire season is going to bring loss of life and loss of many more homes.

We are a dedicated group, who fight fires at the first sign of smoke, we are there in the middle of the night while our kids and wifes are still asleep. We are here to not only protect the homes of hard working people, but also the communities and the lands around them. We serve to protect everyone to the best of our abilities. BUT, we lack "FIRE POWER". We have sufficient men and women who are continuously on standby, ready to fight, but we require something that would keep us safe, and at the same time bring enormous power to a battle that is scary to fight.

We require protective clothing, goggles, oxygen tanks and gloves. More importantly we require a Stronger and more powerful 4x4 truck to aid us through the mountains, to take us there where no-one wants to be. To assist struggling home owners better than what we did before.
