Finding Hope : A Mother's Journey of Battling Ovarian Cancer

After couple of months and lots of days quarantining, i have been reconnected with my Mother Again. She’s not my biological mother but she’s as great as one. We adopted each other as mother and daughter the day we first meet - i am the daughter she never had and she’s my mother in a faraway land.

It was supposed to be just a simple happy day until she said that she is suffering from Ovarian Cancer Stage 4. Sometimes, the pain you thought thats just part of growing older might become the shocker that you never expected. She went to a doctor for stomach pain and comes back with cancer diagnosis and schedules of chemotherapy and operations.

Currently, she had finished 4 cycles of chemotherapy. I know that she’s strong but looking at her doing what she always do would make you rethink about the cancer treatment. She had passed all of these 4 chemotheraphy like a real fighter and coming out living as she never had felt pain. With her head cover, no one will think what she’s battling inside. Now, she needs to do MRI and CT Scan and finally the operation.

I have seen her faced many challenges in life and have seen her fight and come out on top. This time i know she’s battling physically, emotionally but the hardest which she can’t control over is battling the disease financially. Apparently, her basic insurance can’t possibly cover any expenses she might incurred in battling Ovarian Cancer and continuing her job has become even more difficut.

Me, Her and the rest of her children, adopted children, friends and families are embracing it all with Love. We will beat cancer by how we love, why we love and in what manner in which we love. I, myself is asking your kind and loving heart to be with us on this fight. Help us encourage her, support her and be with her on her journey in finding hope so as at the end when she will come out of this - which we all know she will - she can be as much as inspiration, as much as a survivor, as much as a LOVING MOTHER to each and one of us.
