Authentik Imigiz was Established in 2005 by Ricardo Frederick, a Barber coming from the poverty stricken area of Laventille. Ricardo aka Buju aka Rick came from a Lower Middle Class Family with four other siblings and from the early age of fourteen realized he had to find an avenue out of the poverty cycle. He started working with his cousin, who had a barbershop on George Street Port of Spain. Going to the barbershop, watching his cousin work back in 1990 -93 Rick became so fascinated by the Art of barbering that he took initiative and practiced on himself and on family members until he thought he was good enough. Today, he controls an entire building in St. James. Coming from an area heavily affected by crime, he wishes to share his story to show young men that they too can achieve the same he did and not fall into a life of crime. It so happens that said building is up for sale at this moment and this would be the perfect opportunity to harness support from his countless clients to assist the youths from the area in learning a skill that can be very promising for their future. Lets all come together and buy this building which would in turn become the Authentik Imigiz School of Barbering & Cosmetology to train youths, provide employment & give back to his and all impoverished communities in Trinidad and Tobago.
