Currently I am the sole breadwinner of my household managing my 3 teenage boys and critically ill wife suffering from Motor Neuron Disease (MND) ALS type. I am 55 years old working as a Mechanical Technician drawing monthly net salary of 2800 sing dollars. The earned salary is insufficient to meet the monthly incurring expenditure of my household. Main contributor of the expenditure comes from caring of my bedridden wife.

The impacts of MND sickness is as follows:

a) Muscle movements --Majority of muscles lost its capability causing no movements of upper and lower limbs. Little movement can only be observed opening a mouth, moving her tongue, swallowing and so on. Yeast infection grows and started covering her mouth inner organs. Intestinal muscles also had weakened and not able to pass motion on her own. Every 2 days suppository inserts are inserted into her anal hole. Not able to move her head and back of the neck the muscle had deteriorated.

b) Breathing difficulty- Weakened diaphragm and chest muscles including not able to function her lungs well. She is fully supported by a Mechanical Ventilator to pump oxygen to lungs.

c) Blockage of airway by phlegm- Another machine called Cough Assist machine helps her to remove the stagnant phlegm at the airway which may suffocate her.

d) Saliva suctioning pump running continuously helps her to remove accumulated saliva in the mouth and if she swallow the saliva it may end up in the lungs aggravating the infection.

e) She is fed with a balanced diet in milk form called Glucerna and protein powder. The liquid based food is channeled to the stomach by a Naso Gastro tube (NGT) inserted into her nose. This milk feed is costing me 450 sing dollars a month.

f) She is on Diapers. Costing me 200 sing dollars a month.

g) She is on hospital prescribed medicine. Home care nurses and doctors visit the house. Got periodic change of Naso Gastro tube and breathing tube called tracheostomy kit. All medication and services are chargeable.

h) Other many medical consumables required to maintain her.

i) Lower leg massager working on adhoc basis to prevent deep vein thrombosis. Manually massage also required as she got leg pain.

j) Currently I have 1 no. caregiver and domestic worker for day and another 1 caregiver need to be employed for the night. Three life aiding machines are running and being speechless she is not able to call for help during emergency. During night close monitoring of the patient is required as well. For the current 2 workers I am paying 1500 sing dollars.

k) In western medicine this disease got no cure and I am trying another alternative medicine named by Homeopathy which is costly and costing me 600 sing dollars a month. Normally MND patient life is uncertain and I am trying all my best to keep my loving wife alive and get her recovered.

The abovementioned medical expenditure is not final and I am spending money for my 3 teenage boy education, daily marketing, utility bill, mobile phone bill and many others.

Whatever donation receive in future will definitely help my household a great deal and I am really appreciative and thankful to the person who understands my situation and contribute. I do not know exactly when my wife will recover as the Homeopathy doctor had said this will take years. Until then my wife medical cost will be continuous and increasing. I rely on GOD very much because he is the savior who decides all activities.

Thanks very much for spending time going thru this lengthy campaign description.
