Date of incident: 27 Oct 2021

I found my 5 months old bunny (Netherland dwarf x Holland Loop) limping inside the playpen and having poor appetite. The bunny name is Oreo due to his unique color like the oreo cookie. I feel something is amiss and immediately sent him to the nearest 24-hour vet clinic for consultation. The veterinarian conducted the X-ray scan and confirmed that Oreo's left hind leg is fractured. Until now, he is hospitalized and waiting for surgery tentatively on 29/10/2021 in the afternoon.

The complication of the surgery:

1. First option is to "repair" the broken bone. Oreo may risk having to lost it's own left hind leg during the drilling process as the young rabbit's leg is brittle. The veterinarian assure us he will do his best to fix the leg through surgery.

2. After the operation, he is required to be hospitalized for few more days as there is a risk that Oreo may have GI stasis after he woke up from anesthesia.

3. If the surgery take too long, Oreo might pass on during the surgery due to the anesthesia.

As Oreo's owner, I would love to give him another chance of hopping around again instead of choosing to amputate his left hind leg.

The cost of the operation and hospitalization fees is quite high and it is beyond my current finances. I greatly appreciate your help and donation in saving Oreo's hind leg and giving Oreo a chance to live as a happy hopping bunny.
