Hi, my name is Marisia but you can call me Mary. It took a lot but I’ve decided this is my last resort to get any form of help.

For the past 4 years we have been struggling to grow our family. My husband couldn't have children and I went through some health problems that made it impossible for me to get pregnant. A few months ago I found out I'm pregnant, unexpectedly. Unfortunately, this pregnancy brought with it some complications that left me unable to work and I lost my income. I still need help with the medical costs for my pregnancy as I did not prepare for this completely.

I'm currently in thromboprophylaxis as we found that the baby already has intrauterine growth restriction. The presence of bilateral uterine artery notching and a high mean uterine artery PI confers a very high risk for both of us. Unfortunately I depend on the public health system in Brazil. Although it's not all bad, there are few specialists who understand my health condition. Many are negligent and if it weren't for my insistence, maybe I wouldn't be here anymore. I found a specialist in Goiania (925km from here), with whom I am consulting online, who prescribed me prophylaxis treatment with enoxaparin. That's my only hope for things to get better. Unfortunately this drug is in short supply because it is being used in the treatment of covid and SUS is not providing them for free. A box of injections for 6 days costs R$345.50 and I will have to use them up to 40 days after the baby is born. I'm currently using 2 injections a day, which ends up doubling the price of injections.

We had to move to my in-laws' house in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. All because we can no longer afford medicines, hospitalizations and treatments that are not covered by the public health system in Brazil.

All of this caused a lot of stress and sadness. Unfortunately my pregnancy has been anything but peaceful and the fear of losing the baby or dying is terrifying.

I am raising money to try and take some of the added stress and pressure off my mind so I may concentrate on the health and wellbeing of myself and our baby. The money raised with go toward:

  • Car payments, insurance, and fuel for our vehicle, much needed to go to consultations, to the hospital and for hospital emergencies.
  • Utility bills. Even though we are living with my in-laws, we still need to split bills, shop, etc.
  • Medication. I'm currently taking pregnancy vitamins, omega 3, calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, blood pressure medication and acetylsalicylic acid. In addition to a strict diet.
  • Any additional expenses and necessities that may arise during the remainder of my difficult and high risk pregnancy.

Please consider donating any amount, we will be so very grateful. If you would prefer to donate using a different method than go get funding, please contact us. <3
