Campaign Story
Hello! I am John Dave Cervillon Cielo, and I want to ask for your help in competing at the 28th Ube Biennale in Japan as the sole Filipino participant. The event is an international exhibition, as well as a competition of outdoor sculptures. My proposed work can be found on this site. https://ubebiennale.com/en/sculpture.
Unfortunately, even with the grant provided by the event organizer, a production of this scale is still beyond my financial capabilities. I come from a family which earns just enough to provide for break-even expenses, and is sometimes even insufficient when our home in Batanes is struck by natural disasters. Art production normally spells a cutting down of meals for me, but I have endured this as art is what I have chosen as my career. I chose it in high school and have continued to do so as a Fine Arts student in the University of the Philippines Diliman.
I have strong conviction that the career I have chosen can give my family a better life and my one shot at this event will lead me to that direction. I want to contribute to my school and my country as well with an accomplishment I can provide with your help. I implore you to find it in your heart to support me as I venture in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

I don't have much to give as I'm in between jobs, but I have faith in your talent and know you deserve this opportunity. Congratulations, and all the best :)
