A series of strong earthquakes have hit Mindanao, destroying homes and buildings, and triggering landslides. People now sleep in open fields, with no access to food and water. Although rice is now being sent, the need on the ground is for water and tents. The water reservoir in the area was damaged by a landslide, and water has to be trucked in. But people do not have water containers, and a number of families still do not have shelters at all (fights are breaking out for the limited supplies of tarpaulin in the area). A donation of US$25 today can give a family of 5 water containers and a piece of tarp for shelter.
Earthquakes make no distinction between Muslim and Christian, adult and child, yellow or black. Please help our fellow Filipinos and make them see the true human spirit that unites us all.
