My name is Fraser McGhee and I am going to Fiji in August with Volunteer Eco Students Abroad (VESA) to help underprivileged children and adults.

What Does the Volunteer Work Comprise of? During the trip to Fiji I will be undertaking a number of tasks including:

•Working with local children by teaching them how to speak English and offer other educational benefits such as Mathematics and Physical Education.

•Teaching the local children and adults on the benefits of proper hygiene and sanitation.

•Building better sanitation such as hot showers and flushing toilets.

•Renovating the schools, homes and first-aid areas by building better structures and giving areas a new coat of paint.

•Building water catchments to provide safe and clean drinking water.

•Installing new play areas for the local children for them to play games and socialise.

•I aim to improve the lives of some of the villagers by providing a valuable service to them.

•The trip will change the lives of not just the villagers, but myself as I experience an unbelievable way of life.

•I hope to educate the Fijian people and also provide them with a better future.

•Overall the trip will let me experience a different culture and allow me to make long distance friends in Fiji.
