Edwin F. Feliciano is a 44 year old OFW from Riyadh Saudi Arabia who came home in the Philippines last 2018. He decided to stay here permanently mainly to be with his family — his wife Emily and his 4 years old doting son Enzo Jon.
Last 2010, he lost his job as a bus conductor due to the bus modernization program and his company no longer renewed its franchise. Out of good faith, one of his cousins who is working in Riyadh Saudi Arabia recommended him to apply in their company as welder and later on promoted as quality control personnel. He is the sole breadwinner of his family when he was still single, and continued supporting even when he started to build his own.
It was 2015 when he started to feel different indicators of his illness. Due to the physical demand of his work, the painkiller he usually takes took a toll on his health and damaged his kidney. He was diagnosed with CKD/Chronic kidney failure and the treatment options are limited to dialysis treatment or a kidney transplant.
He has already undergone several dialysis sessions since 2018 at dialysis center in Caloocan, Metro Manila and medical expenses ranges from Php35,000.00 to 50,000.00 pesos monthly. His source of income was only his salaries when he was still working and due to the expensive cost of dialysis and other medical needs, his savings has already been exhausted and the salary of his wife is not enough to afford and provide for all the maintenance and medical cost.
The difficulty in collecting funds to continue with the medication is what we are facing right now, and this pandemic situation is not making it simple for us. He even tried to cut his dialysis to two sessions a week to save for the long run but his body is getting weaker and complications are starting to show on his latest medical check-up with his specialist. We are competing against time to extend his life and to experience more of God’s wonderful plan for him and his family.
Setting up a fund raiser is one of the ways we thought of to collect additional funds for his continuous medications. Please help us in getting a shot in extending his life to be with his family for a longer period of time.
