Hello kind people. My fiance Gliter has been an SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus patient for almost 6 years. As you may know, Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues in many parts of the body. It can affect the skin, joints, kidney, and other organs. Symptoms vary between people and may be mild to severe. It has been a financial burden to us and our families. She has been in and out of the hospital for treatment, check-up, and laboratory tests. Her daily oral medications for maintenance also costs a lot. Every time we get the ball rolling, her Lupus will flare and attack once more. Sadly, there is no cure for lupus. She had 3 pregnancies already. We we're lucky to have been given a son. Our sweet, loving, playful son is now 6 years old. Unfortunately, she had 2 miscarriages because of the disease and the last one almost took her life. Now it's even more serious because she is diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis.

Lupus Nephritis is an inflammation of the kidneys caused by SLE. When the kidneys are inflamed, they can't function normally and will leak protein. She was admitted at the hospital again recently on March 17, 2020 at 7% kidney function and almost lost it if we had been late by a day. Her kidneys failed and she's not urinating anymore so she was advised to undergo Hemodialysis. This unnatural life support can lead to many problems including high blood pressure, edema, muscle weakness, joint pains, shortness of breath, bruising, and overall discomfort. And worst of all, having to hook herself in a machine for 4 hours, 2 times a week. Nonetheless, we are still grateful that she is alive and is fighting to be alive but this is not how we would want her to live her life. We want her to live a normal life again. She had to quit work because she is too weak to function. She wants to spend time with me and our son, her family, and friends. Most importantly, she wants to give her family the peace of mind that she is doing well.

This fundraising is a big step to finally help her with her hospital bills, hemodialysis treatments, laboratory tests, and medications. We want to do this because she deserves nothing less. We would like to keep her and see her regain her strength. She still wants to see our son grow up, and dreams to fulfill for herself and her family. We know that times can get too hard for her - emotionally, spiritually, physically, and financially, yet she never lost hope.

To Gliter's friends, families, neighbors, educators, classmates, batchmates, anyone who might have known her personally, or if you are just someone who happened to come across this page but knows how we feel, we are knocking in your generous hearts to allow us to help Gliter.

In this enhanced community quarantine may we kindly ask a bit of help through these trying times. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Please help if you can, and if you can't no problem! You can always pray and share this story.
