Fighting Homelessness with African Refugees

I’m a touched and greatly hurt African who has witnessed one of the worst situations for African refugees in South Africa. I acknowledge all the accommodative South African government policies for refugees. However, I have seen a huge number of women with their children spending their whole hours and days sitting by the pavement on the streets of Gauteng province in South Africa. They spend their time begging from passerby. They don’t have food for their children. They have no basic needs, like shelter. They live under the bridges and have no proper clothing nor access to water for their wellbeing. Let alone electricity nor any form of social security. So I felt and believe it is ones duty to do what one can. Those refugee women and their children need your help. So I plead with you to work with African refugees to fight homelessness and poverty by contributing to buy a proper accommodation for these women and children. Help them to raise their children in a secure environment, where they will have access to dignified accommodation, electricity, food for them and their children and secured environment for their safety and that of their children. Children will be able to have access to basic education at least. So family(s) and friends in the global community I Favour Jacobs as one of the inspired people am now launching this fundraising campaign and request you join us in fighting homelessness for African refugees.

I give women and children some food now and then. However; the need is so great for one to do it alone. So we envisage in building a huge house, with huge kitchen to cook, with enough space in the yard for kids to play and it must be in a secured environment. With adequate bedrooms for women and children to rest and sleep. And have a room where women can nature their talents and make income. And another room where kids can play if the weather conditions don’t allow them to play outside. And that room will be used to increase literacy levels of those children.

This campaign will potentially go a long way in paving a brighter future for African refugee’s women and their kids. The breakdown of the costs are as follows:

Land/Stand purchase: $50000 (1077sqm) once off.

Building a 7 to 10 bedroom house (including manpower and material): $27000 once off. As you may know building cost is determined by the quality of the finishes and the complexity of the details and difficulty of construction of the building.

Furniture: $10000 (basic) as a start.

Total Costs: ($50000 + $27000+ $10000=$87000)
