Fighting for my Dream

Hi!

My name is Christine Joy B. Calibo from Cavite, Philippines. Last Sept 2018, while reviewing for the bar exams 2018, I felt ill and when I went to the doctor, the doctor told me that I have a kidney failure. Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 secondary to chronic glomenumphritis and anemia of CKD, to be exact. Further, the doctor advised me to undergo emergency dialysis immediately, as the poison or the creatinine level in my blood was way above normal. What hurts me the most that time, was when the doctortold me not to take the bar that year as reviewing for the bar is very rigorous and my body would not take a lot of stress and pressure. I cried like a wounded soul would cry. I’m lost for words and could no longer fathom what future or if there will be a future for me. And the doctor told me that I have only two options to be alive, ill be on dialysis forever with many underlying complications or to have a kidney transplant that will cost me a fortune.

I chose to be on dialysis. Every week, I have two sessions. I want to undergo kidney transplant but as of now,we are not financially feasible.

While on dialysis, I witnessed every ups and downs of every dialysis patient. I witnessed how deadly our disease would cause not only the patient’s life but how it would affect the whole patient’s family. It always break my heart whenever a patient surrender to fight. It will always stay and will not be forgotten how frightened and traumatic it was. LIFE IS REALLY TO SHORT. Now, I’m writing this letter to seek help to every one who will read my letter. I want to fight for my life. I want to achieve my dream to become a lawyer. I want to have a kidney transplant. Can you please help me with my dream?
