First off, thank you so much for checking out my donation page. :)
My name is Steffi and i'm excited to compete in this year's Fight for Charity boxing event. What an amazing opportunity to train with some of the best coaches in the city! I have a passion for teaching and training and in a former life in Halifax, that used to be training women in fitness boxing, though there was no sparring, just bag work. I had heard of similar events in Halifax at the time but even though i was training others, i was also dealing with a respiratory issue that presents a lot like asthma (it isn't asthma) and so i thought i wouldn't be able to participate in something like this.
I've since decided not to accept that. I don't like living in the confines of self-imposed boundaries and i think it's super important to find ways to push them further and further out to create space for you to live life to the fullest. So I started personal training which has been really great. Then i heard about Fight for Charity here in Winnipeg and couldn't have been more excited. I used to train women to push themselves against their own limits and it's time for me to do the same for myself. When it comes to your own limitations, it's always worth trying to prove yourself wrong.
I'm prepared to put in the time and effort it takes to make it through the training and to the fight. A friend of mine always used to say "train hard, fight easy" and i am secretly hoping that's how it works! :) Just kidding! I absolutely can't wait to walk down that path to the ring, to experience the feeling of having done all i could, having pushed myself and prepared myself, and to walk into that ring and into that fight, giving it my all. What a great challenge!
And not only that, it also supports a great charity that allows families to stay together when one of their children needs medical care and helps with the financial burden of caring for a sick child that makes it so much harder to go through the experience. Staying in hospital is scary enough for a child and family is a huge source of strength when it comes to recovery and so this is a super important support for young patients.
I would love your support in this if you can. Every donation makes a difference! If you can't donate at this time, please consider sharing this in your social circles so that others might be able to. Thank you so much! :)

We are proud to announce that the 2020 Fight for Charity event is in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Manitoba (RMHC).
Each and every day, the RMHC Manitoba Mission is delivered through their two core programs, Ronald McDonald House, at 556 Bannatyne Avenue, and Ronald McDonald Family Room, within the walls of HSC Children’s Hospital. Their mission is to help families stay together and feel supported as they manoeuvre through the challenging and confusing journey of childhood illness or injury. Every year, RMHC Manitoba supports over 2,000 families with overnight accommodations and day use programming. The services provided by RMHC Manitoba support the emotional and physical well-being of the family unit as well as help to ease the financial burden that accompanies childhood illness or injury. This integral support will save families over 1.35 million dollars annually in costly, out-of-pocket expenses.
By delivering important services such as accommodation, meals, parking, laundry, transportation, and programming, RMHC Manitoba is providing families with daily essentials allowing parents to focus on their sick child, their family, and themselves. Keeping families together during times of emotional turmoil allows them to stay strong and fills them with a deep appreciation for all those who are part of the RMHC Manitoba Mission.
RMHC Manitoba is truly proud to be an integral part of the network of care for sick children and their families and is grateful to their community of compassionate supporters.
What one accomplishes alone can be good, but what many accomplish together makes a difference.
Our fundraising goal for the 2020 event is $50,000. Please help us get there by donating anything you can to this worthy cause and sharing this page. Every dollar counts!!
