Help Support the Fight Against Cervical Cancer- A fund raising campaign

Her name is Rosalie A. Lopez, 52 years old, my mother-in-law from General Santos City. Actually, She have been experiencing some odd vaginal discharge early this year, but she assumed maybe it was only part of her menopausal stage. Until months passed, it still persisted and there are some instances that she experienced menstrual pain. When she came to an Obstetrician/Gynecologist to check her health condition, it was found out that there was a sort of ‘lump’ in her cervix and she was told to undergo biopsy. Before her biopsy, she was transfused with one bag of blood due to her low blood count, and then her biopsy proceeded. Last September 03, 2019, it was known to her that she have a Cervical Cancer, Mucinous Adenocarcinoma – Cervix Stage IIIB, based on the diagnosis that she underwent.

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the cells of the cervix — the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina. According to the Philippines’ Department of Health, this one of prominent cancer disease among Filipino women, where each year a number of new cases and deaths continue to rise. Unfortunately, she is one of these new cases with cervical cancer.

Based on the diagnosis, she is advised to undergo chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This means she have to travel 3 hours to Davao City to have her chemotherapy and radiotherapy done.

I decided to create this campaign to fund her expenses and help her fight towards cervical cancer that she have. I wanted her to overcome this and to live more years together with our family. I wanted her to experience more at life, and not be put in a situation where she only have a few years ahead of her, and to live without limits and watch her sons and daughter fulfill their dreams, to be a grandmother to her first grandchild, and to be mother and wife to our growing family.
