Fight out Talent aims to give a voice to the youth of today for a better tomorrow, it is allowing young people to display their talents in the arts sector. Founder Miss Stephanie Tykeya with the assistance of her production team Nathan Mensah, Shannon Duodu, Sheraine Wright, Noel Davis, Danielle Johnson & Taneshia Cummings is helping to change the attitudes of society about the youth by showcasing their talent.
What is the need/purpose for this project?
Like many careers the theatre sector is a hard industry to break into in numerous acting schools over five thousand applicants apply per year fighting for a chance to be chosen to be in a class of 27 performers. Out of every thousand four applicants pass successfully, the problem is the others are turned away after spending so much
money just to get an audition not only are their finances affected but their confidence is always degraded.
Fight out Talent is different it is giving opportunities to youth to grow, develop and mature their talents in the arts. By building a strong network of young performers that support each other and grow in Unity. Fight out Talent does not charge for auditions/workshops we only request that auditionees turn up on the day with a positive and risk taking attitude.
Who are you helping?
Young people aged 16-25 in South, East, and West & North London.
How do you know there is a demand for this?The fact that there are inadequate supplies of youth run theatres in London is evidence their is a demand for this and after speaking with a number of unemployed, single parents, ex-offenders and talented young people they felt that this could be a great opportunity to get the young people of the streets.
Values of this project?
To get rid of the stereotypical attitudes that today’s society have about youth, this project may not be able to change everyone’s opinion but it can change some and that's what makes it a powerful project.
Goals of this project?
To give young people a chance to grow and inviting those to become a part of history in the first youth lead Theatre Company that represents four areas of London (South, North, East, and West) in London.
How will this happen?
Currently we are in need of financial assistance and are trying to raise money that will help with rehersal spaces,venue hire,props and costume,workshop teachers and also will allow young people 16-25 to audition for FREE , the funds we receive from you wheather small or big is very much appreciated !!
