On August 1, 2012, Chick-Fil-A had a record profit day, thanks to supporters who rushed out by the thousands to eat chicken. Whether they came to support "free speech" or just to show they do NOT support "homosexuality" is open to debate. The undeniable truth is that they went and spent a boatload of cash, standing in lines for hours, waiting ridiculous amounts of time to chow on a sandwich. Among other reasons.
Wouldn't it have been nice if, instead of giving in to anger and righteousness, EVERYBODY gave money to feed and save someone's life? Hey, I think some religions might even say to do that...huh.
It truly would have been a special day had it been a record day for donations to the food banks, if the line for people waiting to volunteer with the sick and needy was out the door, and if, for every sandwich eaten, one was given to a kid who had nothing to eat that day. Or the next.
Here's the deal. For approximately the price of a Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich combo ($5), I will send you a postcard of a chicken carrying a very special message (see image). It will be pre-addressed to Chick-Fil-A's corporate headquaters with space for personalization so you can send it to them and show 'em how you roll.
In return, ALL proceeds from donations and postcard "sales" (minus shipping and printing, which are both minimal) will be donated (verifiably) to Feeding America, an organization dedicated to combating hunger in impoverished (and even not-impoverished) places here in the United States. www.feedingamerica.org
