Last year I was able to attend the 2022 Fight for Charity. This event was so fun and so unique I have never been apart of anything like it before and I wasn’t even the one fighting!

I’ve always wanted to try boxing and what better way to try something new than have it be part of a good cause! So that is why I joined this year to be a boxer. I love trying new things, I love that this is for a great cause, and I’m up for the challenge!

Mental health is soemthing we all struggle with, whether it’s everyday or every so often. Some individuals experience a greater degree of poor mental health and this can’t really decrease the quality of life. Despite our increasing awareness of how important mental health is, there is a still a huge stigma around it. I hope that we can decrease that as a society and come together as a community to raise money for this awareness.

The 2023 Fight for Charity will be held at the RBC Convention Centre on the 29th of April and will feature:

- 12 novice boxing matches

- Casino gaming

- Live music

- Silent auction

- Raffles

- 50/50

We are proud to announce that the 2023 Fight for Charity event is in support of The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).

The Canadian Mental Health Association has a vision for "A Manitoba where mental health is honored as a universal human right." CMHA serve everyone from youth to adults/seniors. Their programs help individuals and families to lead lives filled with meaning and promise. They are a champion for mental health and exist so that Manitobans are mentally healthy, have access to the resources they need to thrive and when a person experiences mental health distress or illness, they have timely access to support for their resilience and recovery.

Research shows that one in three individuals will experience a mental illness in their lifetime. Four in five will have family, friends or colleagues who experience a mental illness in their lifetime. Mental illness is very common and is too often downplayed because many people are uncomfortable talking about it. Everyone benefits from good mental health, perhaps now, or in the future, you, your friends or your family may benefit from CMHA's services. For more information on their services/support, please visit their website at https://mbwpg.cmha.ca/

We are so excited to be partnering with CMHA for the 2023 event, and our fundraising goal to raise for them is $50,000. Please help us get there by donating anything you can to this worthy cause and sharing this page. Every dollar counts!!

Thank you to everyone for the support!! Every little bit counts so please do you best to share or donate!

stay healthy, strive for happiness!
Mik.
