Fight Eating Disorders (F.E.D.) is an independent national humanitarian
organization that provides professional services to those who are suffering
from eating disorders and are unable to afford medical (out or inpatient) support.
FED's decision to assist those in need is based solely on the candidate’s location
and accessibility of local therapists, nutritionists, doctors, and support
groups/centers that are available for each individual in that particular location.
Our first mission is to raise money for a grant writer. Our next mission is to get the grant for a scholarship for in/out patient treatment for at least one candidate and raise funds to operate as a non-profit.
Currently we are a private non-profit awaiting 5013c status. Once we get that, the ball will roll for the grant.
Our current board is reaching out to people of note (celebrities and athletes that have struggled with eating disorders) that may have pull in the community to spread and promote our mission.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 for our first grant and scholarship.
