Fight COVID-19, help end hunger in Bangladesh

Who I'm raising money for
I am raising money on behalf of Savar YMCA to support vulnerable civilians in Savar who have been severely impacted by COVID-19 and the widespread lockdown. Many have been left jobless and are struggling to acquire basic needs such as food, clean water, shelter, and sanitary items. Savar YMCA is a non-profit organization that has been working for the betterment of the community for various different occasions since 1987 which marks the organisation’s first step. It is registered under the Ministry of Social Welfare of Bangladesh and it organizes myriads of social activities and promotes voluntary engagements for the development of youth, children, women, and society. A few examples of impactful initiates taken by Savar YMCA are; the Rana Plaza Disaster Victim Children Stipend Program, raising awareness for environmental issues, empowering women to fight against gender inequality, anti-drug campaigns by organizing youth seminars and sports activities and more. Why I'm raising money
In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, Savar YMCA has taken the initiative to help people who are facing difficulties in acquiring basic necessities. A large number of people have lost jobs and are out of work due to the lockdown and don’t have strong financial roots like many others. Since they don’t have enough support to feed their families, they are in need of money and basic food supplies like many others in Bangladesh.

How donations will be used
Initially, around 100 families will be supported with basic food and necessities, equivalent to 700-800TK. If we can reach the estimated budget of 80,000TK in a short span of time, the remaining amount will be used to support other underprivileged people.
Each family will receive the following items:
Rice-10 kg
Pulse-1 kg
Potato- 1kg
Onion- 1kg
Handwash/Soap
