FIGHT AGAINST UNEMPLOYMENT. Hi! I'm Virgil Saguindang from Davao, Philippines, and with great courage and humility, I’m seeking for your sincere generosity so that I can continue my advocacy to help my fellow people, who live far from the city, get more career opportunities through giving them a series of free call center training right in their communities. On average, we earn less than a dollar a day which makes eking out our common way of life here. Nevertheless, we are an English speaking nation and with a little more finishing touch can make us qualify for BPO’s international standard. Learning call center skill is a good foundation that will definitely acquire more jobs in different BPO industries as well as many more potential online jobs in the future. However, getting these jobs online or office based require some kind of intensive training since not many people can simply avail it with a very poor hiring ratio of 40 is to 1 being hired a day. To address this need and since my background is BPO training development, I had been conducting call center training for free which I called Cyrus School of Leaders, Community Based Call Center Training for over 2 years where I taught customer service, basic technical support, selling, general transcription and ESL to further equip hopeful individuals. I, all, did this by myself without any help from anyone so that I can fully concentrate on quality delivery of the training producing quality graduates and more importantly also is to do away complications which comes from compromising to other people. However, the operation of the training itself needs some amount of money to run and keep it going. This free Community Based Call Center Training had helped so many locals in the past. Unemployed parents, young people who stopped school, overage individuals, people who failed several times in job interviews, fresh college graduates who couldn’t find work and way below minimum wage earners like janitors and sales ladies are some examples of the types of people who benefited from this training and are now very satisfied and happy with their lives being employed in different call centers around our place. I had made about 98% job placement for all my students meaning almost all of them landed a job in call center companies and 100% got an online job. The greatest achievement of this training, nevertheless, was the conversion of many students into Christianity since I also include an hour of bible study per week in the class and they learned about Jesus who became their Lord and personal savior. This is not only setting up for their success but it is also turning them into a good, law abiding and empowered citizens. I felt really, really bad that I can't continue this free training anymore. It was stopped when my 3-year-old daughter was diagnosed with autism (at that time she was 2-years and 5 months old), and she needs more financial help to sustain her expensive therapies then leaving behind my advocacy to the side. Honestly speaking, with the continued needs of my daughter, I have gone broke and helpless. The way I see it, providing help for others will also help me in return. So, I tried seeking assistance with some important people in our local government that they might see the need for this kind of training in their communities but there is nothing much they can do, either. I hope I could find someone who can help me continue this humble advocacy of mine. Furthermore, I also plan that this training will be self-sufficient someday where I can put up an internet rental place on the side so that if anyone who wish to work online to be closer to home, there is already an accessible space with complete infrastructure for them. I can also accept second hand laptops and headsets to provide the training with the needed technology. You can even take part in the training by doing interviews or giving out inspirational speeches on Skype to our future trainees. Initially, the training needs 3,000 dollars to have 6 months worth of free training, and if you are generous enough, 5,000 dollars is all that is needed to materialize one year worth of free training plus constructing that abovementioned internet rental space that once it is operational, this free training will be maintained and sustained for many, many more years in Jesus name, amen.
