Dear Everybody,

On November 31 - February 25, Petra University will hold the Thirteenth Annual Dance Marathon. This organization was established in 2000 by Rudy Hadijono, an Petra University student and friend of Denny Dossen, to honor and continue Denny's fight against the AIDS virus and other infectious diseases.

Each year hundreds of Petra University students participate in this event; dancing, playing games, talking, and eating for 36 hours with no sleep, all in order to raise money for the Denny Dossen Infectious Disease Center at Kasih Ibu Hospital for Children in Surakarta - Indonesia.

Our organization raised money through pledges from Friend and Family, recycling cans, and a variety of other forms of donations. Corporate sponsors cover the cost of hosting the Marathon; therefore, all of the money raised by the participants directly benefits the children of Denny.

Our motto, "The Chance of a Lifetime to Give a Lifetime of Chance" truly demonstrates the spirit of this event. Petra University Dance Marathon is one of the fastest growing student run philanthropic events in the nation. When it began in 2000, the Marathon raised $11,000. Last year, in 2012, over $148,000 was donated to the kids at Denny.

I am proud to be a part of Petra University Dance Marathon and would appreciate any support you are able to offer. I have made a commitment to this organization, and we cannot continue our tradition of success without help from Friend and Family.
