Fight against neuroblastoma

On March 12, 2018 Derek and Sam Pfeiffer were given the devasting news that no parent should ever have to hear; there wonderful 5-year-old son Easton was diagnosed with a childhood cancer called neuroblastoma. Within hours they were in route to the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital. This was only the beginning of the long and trying journey ahead of the Pfeiffer family. After days of tests and procedures it was confirmed that the cancer has spread to Easton’s bone marrow and most of his bones. Easton has a tough battle ahead of him, but he is a fighter. Easton faces 18 months of treatments ahead of him that will include chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, radiation, and immunotherapy. Easton’s loving parents have an emotionally and financially challenging road ahead of them. Derek and Sam are balancing work and school and raising another wonderful son, Lincoln. Community support is essential as this family endures these emotional and financial hardships ahead. Please keep Easton, his brother Lincoln, Sam and Derek, Easton’s grandparents Charlie and Kori Castle, and Brenda and Matt Luhrs, and the rest of the Castle and Pfeiffer families in your thoughts and prayers.
