Fight against Leukemia

I am Johnica Vasaylaje Guillena, 27 y.o. On January 28, 2018, I received the shocking news that there was a cancer in my blood. I have Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, AML is a devastating type of blood cancer and treatments can be life-threatening. My hema- onco dr Treated it with intensive inpatient chemo, for 5 Cycles (almost 6 months) series of blood and platelet transfusions, antibiotics and thought was fine already. In August 2018, a new challenge emerged - my leukemia relapsed and only treatable with a salvage chemotherapy and proceed to bone marrow transplant which cost not less than 2 million. I remain steadfast in this fight to overcome this new obstacle.

I am a loving wife and active mother of John Brylle (3y.o) Prior to this diagnosis, I am a policewoman. I will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant in this year and will be in the hospital away from home for at least 3-5 months to be able to receive the special care I need. My Husband Bryan Lester, also will be in isolation as my primary caregiver. During this time we will be unable to work and will have an inevitable increase in living expenses, medical bills & travel expenses. This has placed an even greater strain on the family. In order to help with this additional burden, we are starting this Fundraising campaign. We welcome any assistance you can provide.

It is not easy to ask for help, but support and encouragement from the family, relatives and community have carried us through.
