Field Trip to Philadelphia

The fourth grade students from Girls Prep Charter School are seeking your support to help fund our trip to Philadelphia. Throughout the course of the year, these girls have endeavored to learn about our country’s rich history. Your support will expose these talented girls to Philadelphia’s culture and past they otherwise would not experience due to monetary constraints.

Thus far, our students have not left New York State. A trip to Philadelphia would not only be educational but an experience that will engrain a lasting memory in the minds of our scholars.

Girls Prep instructs students in a high needs population in the Bronx. More than 90% of our students are African American or Latina and more than 80% receive free or reduced lunch. Our school encourages our girls to reach for their dreams no matter how many obstacles stand in their way. Your support will help in providing buses for three fourth grade classes as well as support in covering costs to enter museums.

As a teacher it is my responsibility to help foster a love of learning and curiosity. That is why, I appreciate the time you have taken to read and consider our request. Even the smallest contribution will help bring us to our goal of taking these scholars to a state with such a rich past.
