Fetch-It Slide Gaff

Purpose 

This project is for raising funds to continue the development and production of the Fetch-It Slide Gaff.  The Fetch-It is a sport fishing accessory for retrieving fish that have been caught on a line, but are too heavy to be landed just by reeling it up or are liable to get free by swimming around a piling or rock or by otherwise getting off of the hook.  The Fetch-It Slide Gaff works when a fish has been caught by placing it on the fishing line and releasing it to slide down and "grabbing" the fish upon contact.  The Fetch-It has three spring mounted hooks bend back to slide over, engulf, and hook the fish. The fish can now be easily and securely be pulled up by the cord that is attached.

Use of funds 

The next step in development is purchase a tool to make the leaves that hold the Fetch-It on the fishing line and guide it as it slides down so that the hooks on the Fetch-It will engulf the fish upon contact. 

Motivation

Fishermen in Hawaii and Australia have contacted me for the Fetch-It because there is no good substitute, but I am financially unable to produce any slide gaffs with the needed improvements on my own.  The Fetch-Its produced to date have effective when sliding pretty much straight down and ineffective when sliding down at an angle as it might need to when the fish is pulling away.
