I am enrolled in the 20 month diploma program at Moncton Flight College. Even though the one year certificate can get me out in the work field sooner, I still believe that short program will provide enough experience to be to be a properly trained pilot. I state this, because with the current shortage of pilots there is already risks of safety in airlines with student pilots not getting enough training, just to fill the positions of the retiring baby boomer generation. So, I do not want to add to that risk of myself, crew members and passengers, for the sake of faster financial reward.

After my program I will be a flight instructor at my flight college to continue building my hours and gain proper experience.

The long term goal is to be the first female private pilot for the family my dad currently flies for, based in Saint John, New Brunswick. Because this job requires at least 10 years of flying experience, the initial short term goal is to get those hours with Air Jazz, in Toronto. However, I have not made a particular plan for any stage of my career, with either going private, airline transport, commercial, or continuing to instruct. I find keeping an open mind with the industries current position is crucial, for we do not know what jobs will need to be urgently filled by the time I am qualified.

If I receive the your sponsorship and/or donation, I will enable security in my earlier years as an instructor rather than being drawn to airlines, before having enough opportunity to educate aspiring pilots of future generations. Encouraging them to choose careers they initially wanted to pursue in, instead of relying on the biggest pay cheque to pay off my high tuition debt.
