Felipe Uy’s Dialysis Fund

Last Dec 24, 2017, my father experienced difficulty of breathing, suddenly became pale and passed out. I rushed him to the nearest hospital, in General Trias Medical Center and Hospital. Laboratory tests were done, his creatine level shoot up to 1000+ and was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease stage 5 secondary to hypertension. It’s a complication from having diabetes type 2 and hypertension. Over the years of taking medications from these diseases, lifestyle and poor diet, his kidneys became weak and can’t filter toxins and other substances that needs to be excreted of his system anymore. He was confined in ICU for 3 days. He had to be on a consistent dialysis 3x a week and with Erythropoietin Alpha (Eposino) 6000 IU injection every after sessions. He needed constant monitoring in this critical condition that’s why my boses at work put me on leave for a month to take care of him. Last March 1, 2018 he was confined again due to stroke. This was his second eposide already (first was November 2013). We survived the expenses for his medical needs especially the hospital bills using my savings, his pension and by the help of relatives, few friends, medical assistance from government offices and prayers

90 dialysis sessions are covered by his Philhealth including the 2 catheter insertions for dialysis access on his neck and 2 failed arteriovenous fistula (AVF) operations in both arms. In this case, he needed to undergo for Graft (Arteriovenous Graft) operation because the catheter access on his neck cannot be used permanently, it involves some risks for a long term use.

Now we’re on his 7 month of dialysis treatment and nearly consuming the sessions covered by philhealth. We need to pay 2,800 per session plus the graft operation, dialyzer, injections and medications. Currently, I’m the only one providing for his expenses and my current work doesn’t suffice all the medical expenses that my papa needs.

I am seeking for financial help for those who are willing to help us so that we can continue with his dialysis and medication. Any amount will do and we will appreciate everyone’s help.
