Feed the Street Children: A Birthday Advocacy

Hi! First, I want to thank you in advance for taking a minute of your precious time to browse my GoFundMe.com.

To tell you a brief background about myself, I am a registered medical technologist and is currently working as a university instructor. On the course of my work as a clinical laboratory professional, I have seen patients suffering from various diseases brought about by unhealthy foods, particularly those that are contaminated with parasites and bacteria coming from human waste products. Furthermore, seeing street children selling different items from candles to flowers to rugs, and feeding themselves with other people's leftovers and trashes, is not unusual on my everyday travel. This may sound absurd, but it literally breaks my heart. And to somehow help those who are craving for a decent meal, I sometimes buy them food are at least give them money to buy food on their own, whenever I have an extra on my pocket.

With these everyday scenario the I am seeing, I opted to start this fund raising event for the street children whom I encounter everyday and shared stories with. As part of my birthday celebration for this year, I wanted to give back to the community who has been so kind to me, by simply celebrating a day with those whom our government might have forgotten. I am planning of celebrating my birthday with the street children and spend the day with them to somehow make them forget how all the problems that they have and give them a day of fun and enjoyment. I'll be turning 26 on the 27th of October since today marks the first day of my birth month, I thought it's wise to carry out this plan that I was considering for the longest time.

Every dollar can make a difference. This may not give them long-term happiness and satisfaction with life, but surely, this will give them the lesson of sharing, even in the most trying times of our lives. I know that with this advocacy, I will not only transform their lives for a day, but rather, inculcate in them a meaningful change of heart, that the Lord has His own ways of letting us feel loved and blessed.
