Feed and Give

MY STORY

I am looking to make a positive impact on a poor household's (especially the kids), one household at a time. PROJECT: GIVE and FEED, is my own community outreach project, which will be ongoing due to the large number of households in my community who is living far below the breadline. My target is to provide the most needed foods and household (such as blankets) items to such families and my aim is to feed as much of these households as possible. It is a fact that the donations that go to governments for such much needed help rarely ever reach those that it was destined for. Many of the small scale fishermen in my community is out of an income due to the fact that the larger fishing companies receive the fishing licenses and quotas. And most of these fishermen did not even finished school, thus the chance to proper employment is virtually zero, and when they do get employment it is short contracts and/or a very low income. The woman of these households go out and work for little income as well to at least provide in some manner, but it is not nearly enough to cover the most basic needs at times.

VISION AND GOALS

Poverty, the lack of basic food and household items and the economic hardships have created non- or a very bleak future for these poverty stricken families within my community.

I believe that if these people can be given a glimmer of HOPE it can serve as an UPLIFTMENT, by means of the basic necessities being met, it have the power of CHANGE, in the issues that matter to them. It also may encourage more people to engage in projects and giving within the community.

Project: Feed and Give's goal is to meet the most immediate needs first as a precondition for being able to address more complex food-related needs.

The road to a hunger-free community may still be far from sight. But as long as there are campaigns to become part of the solution by curbing malnutrition among the poorest of the poor, there is hope after all.
