The Need

South Africa is a country amongst the highest inequality in the world. Due a history of segregation and division within its society, it experiences large pitfalls in development with a large rift between the haves and the have-nots. The outcome is social incohesion, evident most notable by high unemployment, poverty and crime.

Local-based solution

Our agricultural community of Kambula (Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa) is embarking on a ground-breaking project to redress these imbalances of the past. We seek to build an Agricultural Community-Estate centrally located in commercial farming node where we concentrate scattered rural dwellers living (many of them living on the margin) and catalyse our development and emancipation through making economic opportunities and public goods feasible. Applying a high ethic of sustainability to agriculture and the community, we seek to create employment opportunities in the agriculture sector through initiating agricultural acitivities; build schools, clinics, creches and  a college of agriculture; and integrate a village of high concious citizens.

Feasibility Study Funding

The concept of the Agri Community-Estate has been well developed however presently requires funding for a thorough feasibility study. This feasibility will review socio-economic impact, financial sustainability, agricultural and environmental sustainability, and geo-technical requirements. The total amount of money required is USD $40 000.00 to commission a team to undertake the feasibility study and make this communties dream a reality.

Why Should I get involved?

Our project cannot be an island onto itself. We need a collective help to make it work. Your contribution will be highly valued in that it will help catalyze a micro-project into a possibility of having significant socio and economic impact, one that makes our world a better place through the bridging of gaps and improving equality.
