Fatbum’s Burger Christmas Homeless Feeding Project

Christmas is just 10 days days away, and many people here in the Philippines will be spending their time on the streets or without anyone to celebrate Christmas with.

Fatbum’s Burgers The British Inspired Burger Restaurant are aiming to raise 8,000 Philippine pesos to feed the homeless this Christmas in Cebu.

I, Andrew Sinclair the co-owner of Fatbum’s burger am half British/Filipino. Born and Raised in the United Kingdom, I have been living here in Cebu-my mothers’ island for nearly two years (arriving just before covid started). I have seen for myself the level of poverty in this country (naked people on the streets, homeless people, young children begging for money/food), and now with the ongoing struggle of the pandemic this only adds more to the desperation to make a living and put food on the table. Growing up in a developed country like England, you somewhat get shielded from seeing the hardship of life for what it is like for some people around the world, so I am looking to give back to the filipino people which don’t have much.

We plan to raise 8,000 philippine pesos which is the equivalent to £120 or $158, with this amount raised we will have enough burgers to feed 100 homeless people in the province of Cebu and Cebu City on Christmas Eve.

We will be posting photos and making a short video on the journey of buying the supplies, cooking the burgers, and distributing the food to the homeless.

If anyone reading this can contribute any amount that would be amazing! The conversion rate at the moment is £1=63 pesos or $1= 53 pesos. For just £2/120 pesos it is enough to cover all the costs for a beef burger, and feed one homeless person this Christmas.
