Hi everyone, I am storming heaven with prayers and hope as I share this plea with you and knocks onto your kindest and most generous heart for help. It is with absolute sorrow to let you know that my uncle Rene Pangilinan, passed away after long years of battle with a lot of illnesses and a hard-fought being in comatose (unconscious) condition. This fundraising is to help the bereaved family of Uncle Rene who's carrying a heavy burden on their shoulder due to huge subtantial debts, skyrocketing hospital bills and other end of life costs that comes along with his passing which they could no longer afford to overcome. I AM BEGGING YOU, PLEASE FIND IT IN YOUR HEART TO HELP.

There are no words to describe the pain and heartbreak felt by so many most especially for my aunt Beth and their children who are deeply grieving following a painful loss of their most precious husband and father. Uncle Rene has been in the hospital for 7 grueling months under comatose condition when his family have to made a painful and heartbreaking decision of shutting down his life support after being financially drained and being financially incapable to sustain his daily ICU needs such medicines, apparatuses, machines and other medical related expenses. It was a decision that no family should ever have to face.

Rene's family have done everything in their capacity to save him by giving him all the necessary medications and medical procedures that he need despite of being hard pressed for financial resources. For those of you who does not know, before he went into coma, he has been dealing with a lot of illnesses for over four years. Since 2014, he has been constantly admitted in and out of the hospital and badly suffered from prostate cancer, heart failure, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, diabetes w/ insulin requiring, liver failure, lung infections (pneumonia & PTB III), sepsis, and other complication I could not honestly list down one by one. In 2016, he became physically disabled. Both of his legs was amputated due to diabetes complications. The long process of his medication and hospitalization have caused his family to depletes their entire resources.

Such condition did not only wreaks havoc his family but the lack of medical insurance takes an even more devastating toll on them. The hardest part while uncle Rene is in coma, is not knowing whether he can recover or not and as the days pass by, their bills have continuously piling up. His daily ICU care including machines, medicines and the 7 doctors that has been attending him could range around 30- 40 thousand pesos per day or roughly around $900 per day. In total, the family have incurred roughly around $72,000 or approx. 4 million pesos not including the interest for the loans they have made.

While there is no simple answer in the wake of loss and the financial burden that they are carrying, I wanted to make his family believe that there is hope and that there is a support to be found.

To add with the on-going burden following a painful loss, the family is now at risk of losing their precious home due to the huge substantial debts they have incurred. If they can't settle their loans, their house will be use to offset the debts they made. In order to secure and save their home, they needed to obtain at least $19, 300 as partial payment which unfortunately, they can't afford to provide. Their children are sorting all the possible means they can do to come up with this amount, but they are already running out of time. The amount is just too much to bear.

Uncle Rene is a loving and a devoted husband. A hard working, dedicated and a good provider. His family is one of the kindest and people I know. Everyone who knows the Pangilinan family could attest to this. They are not well-off family but they are very generous people at heart. I knew, Uncle Rene would have beg the same for his family.

In memory of uncle Rene, please join me in helping his family in taking at least one burden off of their shoulders. To support, you may click the "Donate Now" button and give whatever amount you can. During this great devastation, there is no amount that is too big or too small-everything is a blessing. 100% of your generous donation (less GoGetFunding processing fees) raise here will go directly to Rene Pangilinan's family. Sharing this plea is a big help too!

I thank you in advance for your spirit of kindness, generosity, and compassion. We will be forever indebted for your help. And though we could not thank you personally for the help that you will be extending, please know that we are eternally grateful to you and can only repay your goodness in prayers. May God bless you a thousand folds!

In sincere gratitude,

Christine Ortiz
