Fantastic Friends SFV wants to go to prom!

We would like to go to prom. But this is not like any other prom, the prom is for Fantastic Friends!

What is Fantastic Friends? Its a non profit organization that was founded 6 years ago by Marissa Hacker when she was 15 years old. Marissa had a twin brother with Autism. This condition made it difficult for him to make friends and socialize. This prompted Marissa to get a group of her friends together along with special needs teen for a day of fun. This sparked a mission in Marissa. She decided to do monthly events for special needs kids and peer volunteer buddies. Buddies that would help the special needs kids with event activities and socialize with other kids and volunteers! In the past 6 years Marissa has turned Fantastic Friends into a national non profit organization. She has had chapters started by people who reached out to her because they wanted a Fantastic Friends in their own town. People like me. I started the San Fernando chapter for my own son who, like Marissa's brother Matthew, has Autism.

Over the past several years the NJ chapter, and headquarters, has a prom for their special needs members and their buddy. Each year this event has grown; the biggest last year with 300 people in attendance! It even caught the attention of Bruno Mars as the chapter sent out a viral video inviting him to their prom. Although he did not get to attend, he did sent the a special personalized video just for them.

On June 17, Fantastic Friends will once again be having their prom in NJ. They are hoping that chapter representatives can make it to prom this year. I would like to attend with my sons and Im hoping to have your support,
