Family Volunteer trip

I’m a single mom working on raising 2 wonderful kids as best I can. This year for Christmas/ holidays I want to take them to volunteer or go on an abroad mission trip. I feel like the holidays are about what society has said we needed to do, Which is spend time with family, give gifts, put up a tree and it’s not the true meaning. Jesus did not tell us to put up Christmas trees and celebrate his birth but rather celebrate his death. I want to teach my kids to give back and to experience that feeling of truly giving and not expecting anything in return. To do good in the world. This is the gift I want to give them for Christmas.
