WHAT~~Hello everyone!
I'm setting up this fundraiser to help me and my husband get the funds to travel to the USA during the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays. I'm an American married to an Aussie and have lived in Australia for 10 1/2 years. It has been almost 4 years since I have been able to see or spend time with my family in the USA.
WHY~~I have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. The last time I travelled to the US was when my father died in 2010. My mother has since developed major health problems, including mini strokes and dementia. I would love to be able to see her again before her problems progress too far. I want to put my arms around my kids and grandchildren and be able to share the holiday spirit with them all. 
My husband hasn't seen my family in over 7 years as he is the sole bread winner and holds down the fort. I suffer from a lot of chronic back pain, major depression and anxiety and draw a small disability pension for these issues. We basically live pay to pay in order to live and pay our bills and have no savings left for the luxury of travel. Any amount would be appreciated to help me reach this goal. I'm putting my faith in the compassion of human nature to help where help is truly needed. I consider myself a good person who has a lot of friends and family that I care about. I've always given of my time whenever needed for them without ever expecting anything in return.

Thank you Beverley for really understanding what this is about. It's hard to convey how important this is to me. I was hesitant to even try this, because I didn't want it to come across as begging or being selfish. But my family is the most important thing in the world to me. It's something I never take for granted. In the past I've been lucky to be able to share with others, even finacially. But now I find myself to be the one in need. The need for some family time face to face. Thank you so much!!

As a lady who has never left the country and a family that has not been able to afford to take a holiday for OMGoodness years and years, I really struggled with how to respond to this request. Money is so hard to come by, with Andrew struggling memory issues and depression and me working 3 days a week. I really had to pray about this and God was so quick in response a poem appeared immediately on my page. This is not about money, this is about family and each day being an unknown. I wish you all the most wonderful time together and hope others who can not afford, or struggle to validate this, or who are just unsure decide to let their heart rule their head.
