Grace our beloved pet had an obstruction of 3cm.
This obstruction may have damaged her bowel and our vet would rather a specialist perform the operation in case there are any complications. This obstruction has prevented her from eating which has meant she has needed to be on a drip for a week now.
In further investigations, the vet at the hospital found that Grace had two bleeding ulcers and pancreatitis. Grace will be fine on the medication and it is just too heartbreaking to think of putting her down due to lack of funds. Grace and her sister Hope have been a part of our family for the past 8 years. They are happy dogs and love being together and Hope is really missing her sister right now. We treasure and love our pets which is why we are taking this bold step and asking for your help.

Grace is really doing better today. She went for a walk with her sister, Hope, and then had a nap on her human daddy's chest. I am so glad that we chose the option to treat her even though it has put immense financial pressure on us as a family.
Nursing Grace
Update posted by Trudi Joynt at 09:07 am
So we are still nursing Grace back to health. She needs meds 20 minutes before she eats. Then in the morning, she has a capsule she needs to take with her food, and then an hour after she has eaten she needs more medication to prevent the ulcers from flaring
A little tired today
Update posted by Trudi Joynt at 09:44 am
It seems that all yesterday's excitement of coming home has tired Grace out. She is very tired today and I almost want to call the vet and ask if that is normal. She is still eating and taking her meds so I guess I need to exercise some patience here
Coming home soon
Update posted by Trudi Joynt at 04:42 pm
Grace is doing much better today. She needs another sonar and blood work done tomorrow and then we can hopefully bring her home and work on a new diet for her. It will basically just be changing the brand of food we give her as we do not feed our
Blood tests

The vet is doing blood tests on Grace to monitor any internal bleeding. She is eating and has not vomited in a few days now so there is progress.
