I work full time and my husband has been unemployed for 3 years, only able to find odd jobs here and there. We are able to make our monthly mortgage payment but have fallen so far behind over the past year and a half that we are finding it impossible to catch up. Our current payment is $1893.00 a month and we are $10,000 behind. I have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia and am currently receiving infusions with little effect for the pain. I am an LPN and I work 5 days a week on my feet all day. We have 4 children, 2 in college with expenses and 2 in high school. Our first son was born while we were 19 and found it very difficult to go to school and support a family so my husband worked various construction jobs while i went to college to get my LPN. I would like to go back to college to go from an LPN to an RN degree, but i owe the college $1400.00 and cant afford to pay that. Catching up on my mortgage may free some funds so I can pay the college the money I owe so I can return to school. When hurricane Sandy hit we were without power for 14 days and used our gas stove to help heat the house, which caused our gas bill to be $2500. Last winter we had no heat all winter cause we couldnt afford the gas bill and decided the mortgage was more important, so we used kerosene heaters to heat the house. We are in desperate need of some assistance to catch up. I am fearful we are going to end up in foreclosure! Any amount would help. Thank you
