Who We Are
We are a single family home with a huge financial burden. All throughout our adult lives, we've been taught the simple values of saving money for rainy day situations. All of that has come crashing down on us lately, as our debt and bills that currently need paid are far outweighing our income. Without sounding like any other "victim" in the US, please hear us out.
Broken down as complete as I can, this is our current situation. We have 2 cars, both on a 3 year lease. My wife's car is currently 3 months past due, and she's ultimately waiting for the repossession letter to come so she can voluntarily give her car back. That leaves me with my car, which because we have lousy credit, that we are paying $491/month on with a company that checks your ability to pay, not your credit score. With her income and mine combined, this month alone, we know we can pay the gas and electric bill, but the mortgage is already two months behind and we're starting to get "Nasty-Grams" from the mortgage company threatening that we're close to defaulting. Not to mention all the bills we're past due on, we haven't even bought a week's worth of groceries in over 5 months. We received donated food from people in our church periodically, but we have a main diet of Dollar Menu items at the local fast food joint most days, because we're scraping by in that respect also. We are receiving lawsuits from people we can't pay back money to, and with a wage garnishment impending for both of us, it is making the situation more grave as the days pass by. My wife is physically drained from all this, as am I. Depression levels are through the roof, and I feel like I'm starting to fail as a husband. I'm trying everything I can in my power to earn more money, but nothing is clicking. Every day goes by, and our depression levels are increasing. We are both hard working Americans, and we'd love nothing more than to give back to our community. We are church going persons, who put our trust in God with every bone in our body. All we're looking for is a chance to get ahead and show anyone who is generous enough to our situation that we will be generous "Pay It Forward" persons when we can eventually crawl out of this black financial pit.
What We're Asking For
Even though it sounds like a lot in a lump sum, many donors equalling a minimum amount of $5,000 will help us tremendously. Our house will not be in danger of foreclosure, our electric and gas will not be shut off as is threatened, our insurance can finally be brought up to date. We will be forever indebted to anyone who can help us. God bless all of you.
